A perfect day out
The impressive castle is set in a romantic park with ponds and a maze – an ideal outing for young and old! Individual visitors can tour the castle from March until the end of the autumn break (end of October into the beginning of November in Belgium). Groups can visit the castle every day of the year, by appointment.
A visit to Loppem Castle is like travelling through time and a trip around the World rolled into one.
The neo-Gothic interiors and the domestic living quarters downstairs show life as it was in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Walking up a stately staircase, you reach the first floor. Upstairs, you can look into the family chapel. And you will see the room where King Albert I and Queen Elizabeth stayed in 1918. The Jean and Roland van Caloen art collections are housed in separate spaces. They offer you the opportunity to enjoy the wonder of works from our Middle Ages as well as a collection of Asian and African art.
Cultural events are regularly organized at the castle or on the estate. A web magazine is also published regularly. In each issue we explore a theme linked to the castle or its inhabitants: a special work of art, an interesting story, a striking testimony. Stay informed via our facebook page or instagram and our newsletter. You can also find all the news and web magazines on our blog.
A unique location
Are you looking for an original location for a party or meeting? The castle's converted manège is now a banquet hall. Companies or private persons can hire this attractive space. The hall can seat 250 to 300 people. And it can accommodate 450 guests at a standing reception. The castle's vaulted cellars are available for smaller events.
